The Ignite Howard County event itself cannot be a for-profit event. As such, any profits generated will be given back to the non-profit community to fund new, innovative, feasible projects that aim to make Howard County a better place to live and work, live and play.

When speakers apply to present, they are asked to identify their favorite non-profit in Howard County. At the end of the evening, one (sometimes two) nonprofit is randomly chosen to receive  the profits from the event.
